4515 High Temperature Materials Laboratory (HTML)
The High Temperature Materials Laboratory (HTML) is a DOE user facility that specializes in studying the physical characteristics of materials. Among other activities, HTML researchers work with industry and universities to develop materials-based, energy-efficient, and environmentally friendly transportation technologies. These partnerships focus on exceptionally lightweight and durable materials, materials used in energy storage devices and materials that enhance the performance of transportation-related components, like catalytic convertors.
Next door to the HTML is Building 3625, the Advanced Microscopy Laboratory, which houses some of the most powerful microscopes in the world.
